5 Hacks to Better Popularity on YouTube

Merely making content is often not a guarantee of a following on YouTube. Many creators find themselves demotivated to create more videos because of the lack of a significant following.

Here are some hacks that could help tip the scale in your favor:

1. Don’t Stop at YouTube

While YouTube is known to organically push your content to most users via searches and recommendations, it’s not the only outlet you must depend upon.

You must learn how to post a youtube video on Instagram and other platforms and draw users back as a subscriber for your channel. Create small video trailers of every video and share them across various social media channels.

Embed the videos on your website, blogs, and or other landing pages to further improve options.

2. Optimize Your Page

This is the first and most critical way to reach more people. If your channel does not have all the essential information filled out, that will hamper its reach. A channel without information is a red flag for both the users and the algorithm.

Add details such as channel image, banner image, social media links, about section, channel categories, etc. Add thumbnails, descriptions, keywords, and metadata to each video.

Use a tool like InVideo to make a channel trailer. This video will provide new users with an introduction to your content and set the context right.

Experts recommend that you break down your channel into categories and playlists to help users quickly locate the videos and understand your creations.

3. More is Not Better

There is a common misconception that the more videos you add, the more your popularity spikes. While this is true statistically, it only works when every video has the best quality.

YouTube monitors a parameter called ‘drop-off rate.’ This is the point in each video when the user quits the video. For poorly produced videos, for those with sub-pas audio and video, this drop-off rate becomes higher.

YouTube further penalizes your channel’s reach with higher drop-off. So by adding more videos that people dislike or drop out from, you could genuinely harm your growth. Focus on making good content, not just in abundance.

4. Reply to Every Comment

This is one of the best ways to turn your viewer into a subscriber. At the start of your YouTube journey, reply to every single comment.

Firstly, this practice provides a psychological trigger to the users since few YouTubers reply to comments. It makes them feel connected and willing to subscribe.

These actions also send them a notification on the YouTube application. A reply would prompt the user to come back to your channel page and inevitably improve the odds for your follower count.

5. Give Ample Call to Actions

Notice how some YouTubers prompt the viewer to watch another video or “hit the link button?”

This request is not just to sound fashionable; the addition of likes, subscribers, and comments can enhance the reach of your channel. Use the last 10-seconds of your videos to plug another video or request users to take action.

YouTube also allows you to add your branding watermark at the right-bottom corner of each video to constantly remind viewers to subscribe.

Final Thought

Note that growth on YouTube is much slower than most other social media platforms. Do not expect overnight results. Ensure quality and consistency, and this is the easiest hack to success.
